The Material
BIOBU® Eco-Composite
We’re about transparency. Described as a biopolymer, our bamboo fiber is comprised of about half bamboo fiber, a highly renewable material, and half non-toxic food-grade A5 melamine binder, which helps to extend the life of the products (a sustainable practice!). All EKOBO products undergo regular and rigorous testing; you can rest assured that they comply with all food safety standards around the world (FDA, LFGB & REACH) and are free of BPA, PVC, Phthalates, Lead, Cadmium, and Mercury.

The Plant
BAMBOO HAS ALWAYS BEEN AT THE HEART OF OUR WORK.
EKOBO chose bamboo because it is one of the most renewable resources on our planet. It has been recorded that bamboo can grow up to one meter per day. It requires no fertilizer, pesticide, or herbicide. A true ecological miracle, this grass regenerates itself without damage to the plant or its environment.

FSC Certified
HOW IT'S MADE
Our products are made in China, where the bamboo grows. It's collected from FSC-certified bamboo chopstick factories. After the raw bamboo is cut and shaped, we are able to collect the vegetal "waste" for its next life...
