EKOLAB: The Grove x EKOBO – Where Design Meets Family Hospitality
At EKOBO, collaboration has always been part of how we grow. We partner with chefs, restaurants, and creative teams who share a commitment to thoughtful design and everyday use.
For this edition of EKOLAB, we turn to The Grove, a Charlotte-based Membership club for families that is built for kids and designed for adults. As they expand into Charleston, The Grove continues to set a new standard for family hospitality and creative community spaces.

The Grove: Built for Kids, Designed for Adults
Step inside The Grove, a Membership club for families, built for kids and designed for adults, in Charlotte, North Carolina, and soon expanding into Charleston, South Carolina. The Grove features a bright, modern studio filled with light wood, custom murals, and laughter. With high-end amenities, a curated café featuring the best of the best from Charlotte purveyors, and a full slate of family programming, The Grove brings an upscale hospitality experience to parenting lifestyle. Their offerings cater to families who are expecting (with plenty of newborn education) as well as play spaces and programming for kids up to ages 7 or 8. The Grove reimagines what family spaces can be: welcoming, elevated, and community-driven. As The Grove expands to Charleston, their commitment to hospitality and playful, functional design only deepens.

EKOBO Tableware & The Grove: A Natural Partnership
Our partnership with The Grove began in the founder’s own home. "I’ve used EKOBO tableware in my home for years, drawn to its color and ease, but blown away by how seamlessly it moves through daily life. From Lego builds to treehouse dinners, it’s design that flexes with us. At The Grove, we say we’re built for kids, designed for adults, and EKOBO captures that same balance beautifully." When The Grove opened its doors, EKOBO’s sustainable tableware naturally became part of their café experience, featured at family meals, bakery tastings, and community events. The collaboration deepened when the team commissioned artist Derry Dillon, whose family-friendly illustrations bring both our kids’ sets and The Grove’s walls to life.

Designed for Family Life: EKOBO Tableware at The Grove
At The Grove, every detail is intentional. Families gather for meals and workshops, children explore play spaces staffed by Grove Counselors, and adults relax with specialty coffee or connect through adult programming while their kids are engaged. EKOBO’s sustainable plates, bowls, and cups fit seamlessly into these moments, used for salads, bakery treats, and shared meals. Durable enough for daily use and beautiful enough for a welcoming table, EKOBO tableware is designed to elevate everyday family life. The murals by Derry Dillon remind us that family life is full of creativity and joy, with family-oriented design that grows alongside us.

Shared Values: Sustainability, Community, and Family-Centered Design
EKOBO and The Grove share a belief that design for families can be both practical and inspiring. Both brands center community, creativity, and sustainability, creating spaces and products that encourage togetherness and independence. EKOBO’s eco-friendly tableware and The Grove’s innovative programming support an elevated, intentional family lifestyle. We’re united by a vision for family life that feels as good as it looks. We’re grateful for our partnership and excited to keep building alongside The Grove as they grow in Charlotte and Charleston.
